Since 1985 WCVI has trail-blazed, broadening the Latino Agenda. Under our visionary founder Willie Velasquez' leadership WCVI was the first national Latino organization to:
Use Survey and Demographic Research to Guide Political Action;
Oppose US Intervention in Central and South America;
Take Action on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation;
Advocate Ending the Drug War;
Advocate Normalizing relations with Cuba; and Systematically Provide Latino Elected Officials with "Social Change" Policy Strategies
